Twitter Update

Hey there! Due to the recent policy changes implemented by Twitter, I regret to inform you that FinBrowser is currently unable to display any new Tweets. I know this might be disappointing, as Twitter is a valuable source of information and updates for many of us. However, I want to assure you that I am actively working on finding alternative solutions and exploring ways to reintegrate Twitter sources into this website. I appreciate your patience and understanding during this time of transition.

@borrowed_ideas Don't think so. What's effectively happened is TT is Snap 2.0. They'll monopolize Gen Z / younger millennials users and creators but they're boxed in to < 30 (content doesn't resonate with older demos). Reels will monopolize the 40+ demo but its too "boomer" for the kids.

Mostly Borrowed Ideas
@ProtagorasTO Isn’t that a bit dated? Was true in 2020-21. Now? Probably not

@borrowed_ideas IMO core issue with Reels is the content is atrocious because they don't have the *right* creators. Though that has nothing to do with monetization, it's mostly brand association (eg. same reason teens don't want to be on Facebook the blue app).

Mostly Borrowed Ideas
Should $META opt for revenue share model with Reels creators? I explain why I think the answer should be, at least temporarily, no.

We are releasing Exactly-one-Answer building on our LLM work! It is a "retrieve-then-read" style model that cites its sources by construction. While not perfect, we believe this is a better model for search than purely generative chat that can spew confident BS.

@JerryCap This is a good intro to the topic known as moving from "code to data". TLDR instead of having a developer hardcode the rules, workflows, etc. an AI/ML model just figures it out through reams of data.

Stories about how chatGPT will kill Google are a bit silly. Google have the best full stack LLM team and infra with custom chips (PaLM, LaMBDA, Chinchilla, MUM, TPUs etc) Nobody can bet them on innovation, cost or go to market. Institutional inertia is only limiting factor.

@modestproposal1 The IG shopping product itself is *really* bad - so it seems to be mostly execution. Issue is fixing it so hard (higher performing leaders won't risk their career on a turn-around). OTOH.. Google Shopping is absolutely crushing it after several years of failed take-offs.
