Twitter Update

Hey there! Due to the recent policy changes implemented by Twitter, I regret to inform you that FinBrowser is currently unable to display any new Tweets. I know this might be disappointing, as Twitter is a valuable source of information and updates for many of us. However, I want to assure you that I am actively working on finding alternative solutions and exploring ways to reintegrate Twitter sources into this website. I appreciate your patience and understanding during this time of transition.

Todd Combs: "[The qualitative is the] secret sauce...when Warren and I were talking about stocks, acquisitions, whatever we talk, it's 95%-99% qualitative, qualitative, qualitative. And that comes down to all the stuff that he talks about in terms of moats, barriers to entry."

Galbraith: "The process by which banks create money is so simple that the mind is repelled. When something so important is involved, a deeper mystery seems only decent." Werner who coined "QE" argues retail banks create 97% of money supply. Interesting:

This is a brutal takedown of his own sales team by Matthew Prince $NET, including the unnecessary analogy of his own people swimming without shorts. This is not a good look right? "That allowed many on our sales team to succeed largely by just taking orders. When the fish are…

Couldn't stop reading @waitbutwhy's book. Blazed through it over 2 days with the same feeling of a lightbulb going off as I did when I read Selfish Gene by Dawkins a decade ago. An incredible framework that provides us w/ the tools essential to understand our changing society.

Talk about vindictiveness - after the health insurance mandate was ended by the federal government, New Jersey implemented its own individual mandate w/ fines for not having insurance. Max fine of ~$4100 per person (2.5% of AGI up to a cap), highest in the country (CA is $850)

Great thread. Adding a few thoughts: @TegusHQ and @StreamRG have changed the game for small funds. GLG's rate is >$1300 per call (~4x markup per S-1), whereas I estimate my blended cost per call is ~1/5 that. Ie vs. few years ago you can do 5x the # of calls for the same budget!

That's a massive leverage point, to still be able to do 20+ calls per idea despite a small budget. (+of course the library itself) Use the expert network economics to your advantage. Tegus/Stream need suppliers of content and thus are willing to provide calls at or below cost.
