Finally, don’t be discouraged if you don’t find stocks to add to your potential wishlist during every research session. Interesting ideas often come in bunches. Sometimes you’ll find none for days, maybe weeks. And sometimes you’ll find more than you can handle in one session.

On a related note, at times as a full-time investor, you might feel “guilty” if you aren’t working to “log” those hours. But don’t be afraid to walk away from the grind for a few days. You’ll most likely come back refreshed and motivated.

Muscles grow during the recovery process when you’re not at the gym. Same goes with investing. My best research sessions are outside market hours, often on weekends, when market distractions are gone. That’s when I build my strongest research & Mgmt. interview request pipelines.

A fairly simple long-term focused investing process that’s worked for me for +30 yrs. However, trust me on this, we’re entering a time where it will work like it’s on steroids for many yrs… and when coupled with price momentum strategies, will capture enviable short term alpha.

Bulls vs. perma-bears & those caught short this past week.

@hiddensmallcaps @OpenOutcrier $LXRX probably still goes higher based on the company just receiving FDA approval for heart failure. Seems their solution might be better than some of the comps. The PIPE part of the deal was taken by their biggest investor. Regardless, was still a big “fu” by Citi.

When you feel like calling your brokerage firm at the end of the day to inform them that something is wrong with their stock price data feed …when your portfolio shows that all the stocks you are short went up and all the stocks you are long went down.

@PaulAndreola @iancassel I agree Paul. Combing Momentum + Fundamentals is such a powerful strategy. It’s all I used for the first 20 years of my investing journey and still dominates my daily research process.

Ran into investor friend of mine who I hadn’t seen in ~20 yrs. He eventually adopted a strategy of just buy & hold in what he knows. He’s now retiring as a multimillionaire. Proof the Peter Lynch playbook works. $AAPL Product fanatic, video game addict $AMD, car enthusiast $TSLA.

Board seats are now encouraged to satisfy diversity standards. Another requirement is needed: That Board members own a good chunk of their stock via open market purchases. Only then can they understand ownership through the lenses of shareholders & act in their best interests.

8/10 And then of course there is the information edge you get by analyzing conference call transcripts for information that was not contained in a related press release, as @Investing501 did when he used this strategy during his review of $MMMB's Q4 2023 conference call.

10/10 Whatever "time" approach you take to investing, you will still need to stick to your disciplines & monitor your initial thesis for buying or shorting a stock. Stories change, and sometimes we have to make tough sell (cover) decisions to move forward.

9/10 But like long-term investing, emotions and lack of discipline can negatively impact short-term investors, like when @VectorVest points out that only 10% of swing traders are successful:

6/10 My favorite short-term strategy that's easy to use is one in which information disconnects are present and can be capitalized on when investors eventually take notice of info you found & analyzed. This opportunity only occurs in microcap land, such as takeover #infoarb:

7/10 Another great short-term strategy is buying stocks in the meat of a profitable growth cycle. For example, I am looking at $PYFRF $PAY.TO since it just inflected to profitability and is in the beginning of a 9 quarter sales and profitable EPS growth run.
