Twitter Update

Hey there! Due to the recent policy changes implemented by Twitter, I regret to inform you that FinBrowser is currently unable to display any new Tweets. I know this might be disappointing, as Twitter is a valuable source of information and updates for many of us. However, I want to assure you that I am actively working on finding alternative solutions and exploring ways to reintegrate Twitter sources into this website. I appreciate your patience and understanding during this time of transition.

Anyone have a current production estimate for Westbrick? Just curious to see if they are still growing aggressively or have pared back given the weakness in natural gas. TIA.

Going to see a lot of people talk about tax pools like they know about tax pools over the next few hours re: $WCP decision, but this has been happening forever in the industry. You have to “continue the business/operations” of the asset that generated the pools.

@WilliamLaceyYYC @WTIBull I'm still struggling with the $KEL story and don't see someone paying $1.7B for Wembley. I'm sure they'll do something at some point but the stock is lower than it's IPO price from 10 years ago....how long do you wait? Good assets + good mgmt but not sure what happens next. 🤷‍♂️

William Lacey
@WTIBull Except I don’t see Dave slapping on debt. Just my opinion and I suspect that all of these “what if” pieces are not a result of analysts being smart but rather them being guided to consider some options….

@Rory_Johnston Statistically what measures have proven to be the most accurate forecasters?

Rory Johnston
Regular reminder that the crude futures curve is a terrible forecaster. That's not its purpose, even if that's how it's often treated.

This morning I published a research piece of $SGY — it is available on my website (WTIRealist․com), or DM me for a full PDF. It details a decade of capital misallocation, proclivity to dilutive deals, poor debt stack management failure to create value. A short summary 🧵 #EFT

@cckanaan If memory serves me correctly $CVE also has a large legacy land position and large underutilized gas plant at Elmworth. Don't think they have a lot of Montney rights however.

Chris in Canada 🛢️ 🍁
$BIR.TO has disclosed in Q1 expanding a large land position in the Elmworth area near Grande Prairie. In disclosure, Birchcliff notes the higher than normal bids received for offsetting land in the past six months.

@cckanaan @RyanRMooney PE will generally be looking for a minimum IRR of 20% on their initial investment so you could reverse engineer an equity price that returns something in that range. I haven't followed the name that closely from inception but I'm sure you can dig up the details.

Chris in Canada 🛢️ 🍁
@RyanRMooney @CdnEngyAnalysis I am just wondering what do you think their (Riverstone) target is for determining their exit point or what will be acceptable? Do you think they could repeat what Spartan did (by marketing the company) and end up with an offer of comparable metrics? If not what is their goal?

$RZE units offering live — here it is explained because it’s decently confusing. The 0.49455 thing is useless — ignore it for now. Every common stockholder gets a right to subscribe to a unit offering for $0.80/unit. Each unit includes 1 common share, and 1 warrant (con’t.)

Some interesting commentary on $esi.to call Cda pricing - super specs very tight, still seeing some price increases on contract turnover and 0 decreases On doubles in Cda, tried to price aggressively in q4, lost more than expected but seeing that pricing now in q2 bids

@cckanaan I personally think they just want a liquidity event to get out like so many other PE firms have done. They've been in these names for so long and rode it out through 2020 so why not get out if there's a window? Doing a mashco with $PIPE just seems like it'd extend things forever.

Chris in Canada 🛢️ 🍁
@CdnEngyAnalysis What do you think $HHRS's real game plan is? To really become a top 5 Montney E&P via organic growth or is Riverstone going to try to snag $PIPE.TO on the cheap after the smackdown. Same two directors on both companies representing Riverstone.

@djlowe I guess in theory they could complete a secondary at a premium to the current trading price and rerate all shares but I'm not sure how realistic that scenario is. They are trying to take out the warrants at least. 🤷‍♂️

@CdnEngyAnalysis Dunno if anyone has ever outperformed buying SPACs within 1 year of acquisition except for an odd couple years during COVID where everyone decided SPACs were the best thing ever

@ValueNotDeadYet @BubleQe @jim_duffus @Michael71718318 @AdamWoodward11 @HBK_Oil I think 8x is where it has typically bounced around and is fair for the name. Should trade at a 2-3 turn discount to $KEY $GEI $PPL but a premium to $PKI given their refining exposure. Not much "organic" growth if any and I don't bake in any future value for acquisitions.

ValueNotDeadYet
@CdnEngyAnalysis @BubleQe @jim_duffus @Michael71718318 @AdamWoodward11 @HBK_Oil For discussion sake let’s compare it to midstreams… $700M 2024 EBITDA, should it trade at 8x maybe more? Not in the name, so interested to hear people’s opinions. Dividend is very nice of course

@ValueNotDeadYet @BubleQe @jim_duffus @Michael71718318 @AdamWoodward11 @HBK_Oil They don’t have a lot of peers so what’s your definition of “not cheap”? They’re quasi-midstream with huge barriers to entry but comes with seasonality and is partially dependent on the economy. I just buy it for the $0.72/sh dividend which I expect to be maintained.

ValueNotDeadYet
@BubleQe @jim_duffus @Michael71718318 @AdamWoodward11 @HBK_Oil What do you think they do in 24 for EBITDA? Not “cheap” right now even with the drop is it ?

$SPB is a lot more interesting to me here at ~$10/sh. Large holder sold 13MM shares at $9.79. Company will be issuing 48.8MM shares at $10.25 for the Certarus transaction. It's a super boring stock that I buy and hold for yield with no expectation of capital appreciation.

Dustin Lowenberger
Not sure if it's just our area, but housing in Calgary seems crazy right now. Have seen 5-6 houses go for sale in our area for $950k+, get sold within 3-5 days of sale signs go up. Prices are 20-25% higher than 1.5 yrs ago. No housing bear mkt here...
